Absolutely wonderful.
You may remember the wonderful mural that was created by the very talented artist Joe Caslin on George’s Street, Dublin for the recent Marriage Equality referendum, and the Roscommon artist has continued to spread the love with another amazing mural in Belfast.
He has painted a five-storey mural depicting a married lesbian couple onto a city centre building in Belfast, to coincide with the Belfast’s annual Pride festival.

Speaking with the BBC, Caslin said that the time was right to take his message of to Belfast “Northern Ireland is the only territory now on the islands of western Europe that doesn’t have same sex marriage – and it’s same-sex marriage not civil partnership. Through the work that I did in Dublin last year with the referendum and the large piece we put up on George’s Street, I felt it was an ideal time, coming up to the Pride Festival that takes place this weekend, to reignite that conversation.”
As we all know, the Republic of Ireland became the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage through a popular vote in May.
Quite a lot of people have already been impressed by Caslin’s latest work along with its progressive and heartwarming message.
