Nt exactly what you expect 2 see in a charity box in Amsterdam #punt #ireland #schiphol #charity @JOEdotie pic.twitter.com/Uto4wsNalO — Sarah Porter (@SarahPorter_88) February 11, 2014That face belongs to none other than James Joyce, who featured on the front of the Ten Pound note that was issued from September 1993 to 2000. So don't be surprised if you haven't seen one in person over the past 12 to 14-years. Judging by the fact that the old £10 note is sitting at the top of the pile of money, we can only assume that it was dropped into the charity box fairly recently, but having said that, it might just need a long overdue cleaning out. When asked if she thought the £10 featuring Joyce had been freshly dropped into the box, Sarah said it was ‘hard to tell, although there was the odd punt coin too’.
