When the pressure’s on and when there’s deadlines to meet, page layout editors at newspapers are bound to make one or two things slip under the cracks every now and again and when it does happen, they can only hope that it’s a harmless typo or a tiny caption error that goes largely unnoticed by the readership.

Occasionally, however, the oversight is so glaring that one can’t help but notice, as was the case on the front page of the first edition of this morning’s Daily Telegraph.

The Telegraph front page featured a very unfortunate headline and picture combination that appeared, on first glance at least, to raise major questions about the safety of young Prince George of Cambridge, the son of the Duke and Duchess and Cambridge, better known to you and me as Will and Kate.

Look closer and it’s obvious that the headline at the top of the page has nothing to do with the picture a little bit below but pretty easy to see how the connection was made and a screenshot of the front page did the rounds on social media last night, prompting a quick revision from those in charge.

Who’d be an editor, eh?
