Pic: WTF? Vladimir Putin’s political party have unveiled a new ‘straight’ flag

This is very, very strange

This is very, very strange…

In a week where flags have had a big role in the news, the flag madness has continued, but this time it’s over in Russia.

Vladimir Putin’s United Russia Party have created their own straight flag to counter the famous rainbow flag of the gay pride movement.

The flag depicts two people, a man and a woman, holding hands with three kids and is meant to celebrate a ‘traditional’ family as a counter to the growing LGBT movement across the world.

Homosexuality is not illegal in Russia, but in 2013 President Putin introduced a law which bans symbols promoting ‘non-traditional’ values.

We did like the comeback Euronews made to the unveiling of the flag though, we think it would be a more fitting design…
