Did someone say free flights to London?

You don’t expect to see black cabs in Dublin. However, Dublin commuters are in for a treat this Thursday when a special fleet of black cabs are brought to town by low-cost airline Flybe, operated by Stobart Air.

These black cabs come bearing gifts! Not only will they be treating local people to free fares but everyone who gets a taxi will also get a free return flight to London Southend Airport. So you could be off to London Town for a long weekend or a flying visit.

How do you find these amazing taxis, you ask? Well, they’ll be picking commuters up at taxi ranks in Ballsbridge (Herbert Park/Clyde Lane), Rathmines (Military Road/Rathmines) and Drumcondra (Richmond Road/N1) between 7.30am and 9.30am on Thursday morning and going to Merrion Square South. There will also be taxis travelling back from Merrion Square South to those three destinations between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

A total of 250 return flight vouchers will be given away by Flybe, operated by Stobart Air. Everyone who gets picked up by a black cab on the day will get a free return flight from Dublin to London Southend Airport.

The airline has just introduced a brand new route to London Southend Airport, with flights operating from the end of the month. This is great news for people who regularly commute to London or for anyone looking to avail of a cheap flight. With a dedicated rail service from the terminal to the city centre, you can be in Stratford Station in 45 minutes or Liverpool Street Station in 53 minutes. There are up to seven trains an hour at peak times and at least four trains running every hour.

If you fancy testing out the new service, why not get a black cab on Thursday and enjoy your first flight for free? Just head for the special taxi ranks and keep an eye out for those London cabs!

Flybe, operated by Stobart Air, will operate a brand new route from Dublin to London with flights to London Southend Airport commencing on 29 October, 2017.

The new route will operate up to three flights per day, seven days a week between the two capital cities, with fares from €19.99 one way, including taxes and charges.
