He's called out the New York Times again...

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at the New York Times for their coverage of the recent visit of the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots to the White House.

Photos tweeted by the New York Times show a significantly larger group celebrating the 2015 win when the Obama administration was in the White House, compared to the photo snapped this week.

In the photo from 2015, both staircases to the South Portico are filled with people, while the photo from Wednesday shows a much smaller crowd.

This is the Tweet in question...

Trump once again to Twitter to voice his dissatisfaction at the coverage.

He said: "Failing @nytimes, which has been calling me wrong for two years, just got caught in a big lie concerning New England Patriots visit to W.H."

But the New England Patriots themselves have offered some clarification on the issue as they said the photo "lacked context" because two years ago, staff members were also in the photo, but on Wednesday they were seated in front of the podium.

They then showed a visit during the Bush administration the last time the Patriots won two Super Bowls in three years.
