Hey! We want a mini-JOE too…

The National Ploughing Championships are taking place later this month from 23rd to 25th September and, to help celebrate the fantastic Irish tradition and the best taste of local, SuperValu have teamed up with Dublin star Bernard Brogan, distinguished Mayo footballer Aidan O’Shea, and retired Kerry player Paul Galvin.

The three local heroes will take to the stage of the SuperValu Village Green with celebrated Irish chef, Kevin Dundon, to host demonstrations that feature recipes from SuperValu Food Academy producers – a programme which aims to support food start-ups to secure their first retail listing.

What we’re looking forward to most though is the fact that chef demonstrations always mean that there will be free samples of delicious, free food. Did we mention that the food would be free? We did? OK.

Not only that, but their mini-me counterparts are getting involved too. And, if you’ve ever wondered what a four-year-old looks like with a beard then wonder no more. Check out the ‘All Star’ line up for the National Ploughing Championships is ‘Mini Bernard Brogan’ (Harley Smith, aged four), ‘Mini Paul Galvin’ (Rocco Kelly, aged four) and ‘Mini Aidan O’Shea’ (Noah Lynch, aged two).

There will be a health and nutrition questions and answer session with living legend MC Marty Morrissey and the three GAA heroes on how to bring championship health to your dinner table in the GAA zone, which celebrates SuperValu’s sponsorship of the Senior Football Championship

The hunky hunt will be on during SuperValu’s Search for Ireland’s Most Stylish Farmer with Aidan O’Shea and Paul Galvin.

SuperValu is building an entire village to showcase its commitment to growing local communities and plans to celebrate the very best fresh food available from its good food family of over 600 Irish, Signature Tastes and Food Academy producers over the three day event.  SuperValu’s sourcing policy reflects a real commitment to buy from local producers and local farmers whenever possible, making SuperValu the number one retail supporter of the Irish food industry.

SuperValu ‘Believes in Local’ and supports communities across Ireland every day.  International research has shown that shopping with independently owned stores like SuperValu means up to three times more money goes back into the local economy, helping to support more jobs and causes in local towns and villages up and down the country.
