Pics: We can’t get enough of these crudely drawn election posters for one candidate in Cavan

We don't know Harry Reburn and can't comment on what he can do for Cootehill/Bailieborough, but we’re big fans of his scaled-back, simple and non-flashy approach to local election paraphernalia.

We don’t know Harry Reburn and can’t comment on what he can do for Cootehill/Bailieborough, but we’re big fans of his scaled-back, simple and non-flashy approach to local election paraphernalia.

With so many election posters out there endorsing the various candidates for local elections it can be hard to stand out from the crowd, so those who really want to attract attention need to do something a little different.

Yesterday, we brought you pictures of the posters two fake candidates for the Fianna Something or Other Party, Shark Murphy and Luke Steele, placed around Limerick and today, we’ve come across posters for an actual candidate in Cavan that are definitely real, even if there’s a strong possibility they’re not the work of the candidate himself. *Update* We’ve subsequently found out that they are, in fact, real.*

The pictures below, sent into us by a local resident who preferred to remain anonymous, were taken in the Cootehill/Bailieborough area of Cavan, where Harry Reburn is running for election.

Like we said, we’ve a suspicion that Harry had nothing to do with them )*see update above*), but if he did, we suspect he had spent all of the budget for his election campaign before realising he forgot to splash out on posters.

Still, whether they’re fancy or not, all that matters is that the message is getting across and that’s certainly the case here, particularly with the sign about potholes being located in close proximity to an area where road works are being carried out.

Genius.
