It looks like Met Eireann were right when they issued those weather warnings for thunder and lightning last night
The weather last night was indeed frightful, as the old song goes, and there was plenty of heavy rain, high wind as well as thunder and lightning last night throughout the country.
While it wasn’t pleasant for anyone who was stuck out in it, it did make for some spectacular pictures, and Eamonn Grant shared this one, which was captured just at the right time in Tipperary.
