The city of Detroit is about to get what will surely be the greatest statue ever: a ten-foot tall RoboCop
By Adrian Collins
Kickstarter is a great idea, it allows people to get behind a product or idea that they really like, and it can give an otherwise underfunded project a much needed boost.
One such project was this ten-foot tall RoboCop statue that a few people wanted to build in Detroit, and got the backing it needed on Kickstarter.

The statue is nearly ready, and will be send off to be cast in the coming days, and you can see just how big it is in this picture.

It's not likely to be put up until around 2014, but check out Peter Weller, who played RoboCop back in the day and is in the new Star Trek: Into Darkness flick, giving his unique backing to the project.
