Picture: The most ominous looking clouds you'll see today are over the Canary Islands
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, and also in the Canaries by the looks of it
In case you were hoping to spend the winter months seconded away in the sunshine and lovely weather of Tenerife, you might need to look at making some alternative arrangements. If this picture of the incredibly ominous looking sky over Tenerife isn't scary enough, then perhaps the news that they're expecting winds of about 120 km/h might also change your mind.
So far they've had powerlines falling down, walls collapsing, and transport to and from the islands has been badly affected, including air travel.
They are also predicting that temperatures will drop well below the norm for that part of the world tonight, hitting -10° in some parts. The State Meteorological Agency has issued a red alert to the inhabitants of Tenerife and La Palma, and with more bad weather on the way, they have decided to shut down schools and universities until the storm passes.
So for once our weather is better, at least for now. We've just jinxed it though, haven't we?
