ITV confirmed the news on Tuesday evening
Piers Morgan has resigned from Good Morning Britain, ITV have confirmed.
His exit comes following his comments on Meghan Markle after her interview alongside Prince Harry with Oprah Winfrey.
ITV released the following statement: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.”
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

ITV came under fire for comments Morgan made on Good Morning Britain after the much-discussed interview between Markle and Oprah.
Speaking to Oprah, Markle said she had previously had suicidal thoughts during her time in England after marrying Prince Harry, because of the amount of criticism and abuse she was receiving from the press and public.
Addressing her claims on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Morgan said: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said”.
He added: “I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”
