John Cunliffe, the creator of Postman Pat and Rosie and Jim has died

Really sad news.

The creator of legendary TV shows such as Postman Pat and Rosie and Jim has passed away.

John Cunliffe passed away in Ilkley, West Yorkshire on 20 September at the age of 85.

The news was released in the Ilkley Gazette, who posted his obituary on Thursday.

The death notice in the Gazette, read that John: “Left his Ilkley home in a deluge of rain on Thursday, September 20, never to return.

“Even the skies wept for John the gifted creator of “Postman Pat”, “Rosie and Jim” and author of many earlier published collections of poetry and picture storybooks for children. John’s last poetry collection, significantly entitled “Dare You Go”, has now come to fruition for John has dared to go and he has gone.”

Cunliffe also worked on other kids TV show such as The Wombles, The Magic Roundabout and Paddington Bear.
