The weather is pretty nasty out there, and it has resulted in a power outage in a number of areas across the country.

Thousands of homes are without power following strong winds and heavy rain throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning. According to ESB Powercheck, there are thousands of homes scattered across the country currently without power. Places like Wicklow, Waterford and Mullingar are among the worst affected. ESB are regularly updating their Twitter account with further information about places that may be affected by the adverse weather conditions, which you can find here. At present, there is still a weather warning in place for a number of counties in Ireland. There is a status yellow wind warning in place for the entirety of Leinster, as well as both Cavan and Monaghan. This will remain in place until 9am on Tuesday morning. Also, in marine warnings, there is a status orange gale alert and a status yellow small craft alert in effect until 5pm today.
