The British royals have announced they will be visiting Ireland in 21 days time.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s impending visit on social media on Tuesday.

The visit will take place from Tuesday 3 March until Thursday 5 March. The official visit is at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake an official visit to Ireland between Tuesday 3rd March and Thursday 5th March,” Kensington Palace said.

“The visit is at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Further details will be advised in due course.”

The exact details of royal visits are kept under wraps until shortly before they happen due to security concerns.

However, sources told the publication that the Cambridges will be taking part in a number of engagements over the course of the two-day visit – and that it will most likely take place in Cork and Dublin.
