The DSPCA has shared images of a puppy that was found “thrown out with the rubbish” on the side of the road in Dublin.

The dead puppy, which was found in Kilmartin Lane in Dublin 15, had injuries that looked to be blunt trauma to her “tiny head”, according to the DSPCA.

An inspector from the DSPCA received a call on Wednesday from a member of the public who had spotted a bag of rubbish on the side of the road, which is where the dog was found.

The puppy was brought back to DSPCA vets for examination.

Since then, it was found that the dog was a little female, believed to be around six weeks old.

It had no microchip, with the DSPCA saying: “We’ll probably never know the circumstances that lead to this and sometimes it’s easier not to know.”

However, an appeal for information has still been issued, with people who may know anything urged to email [email protected].

The images below are graphic, and may be distressing to some readers.
