The reason why US President Donald Trump has bruising on his hands has been revealed again, following a new health test.
The bruises on Trump’s hands have drawn widespread attention in recent months, and they’ve sparked speculation about his health.
On May 29, a new report on Trump’s health was published and he took to Truth Social to claim that it went “perfectly”.
As per the president, tests were carried out at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center.
Trump, 79, was subjected to a “comprehensive preventive evaluation”, while he authorised the release of test results himself.
In the report, Trump’s physician, Capt. Sean Barbabella, included observations on his hand bruising.
Barbabella said in the report that the bruising is “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.”
“This represents a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy. No suspicious lesions or concerning growths were identified”, the physician added.
A similar reason for Trump’s bruises was given by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
According to Leavitt, the bruises on Trump’s hand are caused by “constantly working and shaking hands all day every day.”
Earlier this year, images emerged in which Trump was seen having a large scabbing rash on his neck.
The same doctor, Sean Barbabella, said in March that the rash was caused by a cream that the president has been using as a “preventative skin treatment.”
“President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment”, the medical professional said in a statement.
Last year, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that affects his veins.
The White House said that he had been tested after he had “noted mild swelling in his lower legs”.
Despite this diagnosis, Trump’s condition is considered to be mild as there is “no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.”
The condition occurs when your leg veins don’t allow enough blood to flow back to your heart, which has caused the bruising and swelling many have noticed in images of Trump.
Meanwhile, in April this year, a doctor warned that Trump is “exhibiting all the signs of dementia”, as he sounded the alarm over the president’s health.
Throughout his second term, Trump's mental health has also remained a significant focus, with Americans examining his numerous public gaffes, apparent physical constraints, and reported medical issues.
