Have you ever been to a meeting, conference or training day that was so bloody boring that you inadvertently nodded off for a quick minute? A lot of people have, whether they admit to it or not.
Unfortunately, if you’re a North Korean official under Kim Jong Un’s reign and you nod off at an event that the leader himself is in attendance, then you’re in for the mother of all paddlings.
Even though this might sound like something straight out of Waterford Whispers News, Reuters reports that North Korea has executed its defence chief by putting him in front of an anti-aircraft gun at a firing range back in April.
The info was sourced by Seoul's National Intelligence Service (NIS) who said the official in question was Hyon Yong Chol, the head of the North Korea’s military.
According to reports, Hyon Yong was executed by a ZPU-4 anti-aircraft gun, just three days after being arrested.
In total, some 70 top officials have been executed for challenging Kim Jong Un’s leadership since he took over from his late father back in 2011.
Enda doesn’t seem so bad after all…
