Reports of many injured as van hits pedestrians on London Bridge

Carl Kinsella

British police are responding to an incident where a van veered off the road on London Bridge and hit many pedestrians.

Sky News has reported that London Transport has confirmed that London Bridge station has been closed at the request of the police.

While there is scant concrete information from the scene, video footage on social media shows an abundance of emergency services rushing to the site of the incident, including armed police and ambulances.

Sky News’ Home Affairs Correspondent Mark White also told Sky that there were unconfirmed reports that there were injuries at the scene from a knife, though he did make it clear that these reports are not official.

Early reports from major news organisations are in agreement that a vehicle crashed into a group of pedestrians. We will update this story as it unfolds.
