Boy down well Spain

A very harrowing story.

Spanish authorities are in the process of trying to rescue a two-year-old boy who has fallen down a 110-metre well in the province of Malaga. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, 13 January.

The Guardian has reported that the young boy, whose name is Yulen, cried out when he first fell, but he has not been heard from since the initial fall. Unfortunately, the well appears to be too narrow for an adult to enter.

Since the fall, authorities have lowered a camera into the well but as of yet they have not been able to locate the boy. The camera has found a cup and a bag of sweets that Yulen was holding when he fell, 78-metres down, compacted in wet sand.

A spokesperson for the Spanish government in the region Maria Gamez said: ““No one is technically prepared to rescue someone from such a narrow hole, but the technology exists to get into places as narrow and deep as this, and everything is being considered.”
