The first result is in…
Galway-East is the first constituency to provide an official result for Friday’s referendum.
The people of east Galway have voted in favour of repealing The Eighth Amendment from the Irish constitution.
The constituency voted in favour of the change with 60.19% voting YES and 39.81% voting NO and turnout in the area was at 63%.
Results are expected in other constituencies in the coming minutes and hours.
