The incident took place on Saturday evening.
A man in his seventies has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place in Skibbereen, Cork.
Gardaí attended the scene of the accident at approximately 6pm on Saturday 24 August.
The driver was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, which was closed off to allow emergency services to attend.
Initial reports suggest that the deceased suffered a heart attack while driving.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told JOE that a post-mortem examination will determine the course of an official investigation.
