A dog was also seriously injured and had to be put down as a result of the attack.
Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage and assault at a house in Falsk, Roscommon on Sunday 16 December at 5.30am.
A number of people were injured during the incident, and three required hospital treatment.
Also, a number of vehicles were set on fire and a dog was seriously injured and had to be put down as a result.
According to RTÉ, security personnel were at the scene when a large number of men in high-viz jackets arrived and attacked them with baseball bats.
The eight people injured are all security personnel and the dog that was killed was a security dog.
The farm and house have been sealed off and Gardaí have begun a criminal investigation.
