A 19-year-old Irish man has died in a motor collision while on holiday in the Canary Islands.
Stephen O'Gara was killed while riding his moped in Lanzarote during the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to the Shannonside, O'Gara was driving a rented quad bike/moped which collided with a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene but the 19-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
O'Gara, from Aughurine Moyne, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon, had been holidaying on the island with his mother and other relatives.
A spokesperson for the the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed to JOE.ie that they are aware of the case and providing consular assistance to the family.
