From one extreme to another…
Earlier this week, the RTÉ Meteorologists were in great demand and under considerable pressure when Storm Ophelia struck Ireland on Monday (seems like a long time ago now, huh?).
Donnelly along with Gerry Murphy, Evelyn Cusack and co were on TV and radio all day updating people on the developments of the ex-hurricane. We can imagine it was a hugely taxing day for them.
Following the events on Monday, Donnelly posted a picture from a young girl who was thanking her for warning her father and grandfather (both fishermen) about the dangers posed by Storm Ophelia.
You can take a look at that one here, it will probably warm you heart a smidgen…
But, it’s not all kind words that she’s been receiving this week, as somebody went to great effort to handwrite and post a letter taking aim at her.
She posted an image of the letter with the following caption: “In fairness I have lovely legs. Just can’t see them on tv. My mother would be furious and demand I have this fingerprinted.”

The letter reads as follows…
“Get off the stage, Donnelly. You work for Met Éireann. You’re a weather forcaster [sic]. That’s all no big deal. Nobody is remotely interested in you or your lifestyle. You’re not even a little bit attractive. You’re trying to break into
break intothe entertainment/celebrity side of it like some of your colleagues. Stick wth your cushy job in Glasnevin. Yeah.” [Editors note, we think that’s what this says].
Some people have little to be doing if they’re sending letters like this…
