Taxi driver crashes into group of World Cup fans in Russia

The driver jumped the curb, and eight pedestrians are reported to have been injured.

Police is Moscow have confirmed that a taxi driver crashed into a group of people – reported to have been mostly Mexico supporters – near Red Square on Saturday.

CBS News are reporting that it is believed to have been an accident, as the driver may have been drunk at the time of the incident, and lost control of the vehicle.

There is currently no details on the condition of those who were injured.

The following is footage published on a Russian news station’s Twitter account, showing the incident and then the driver attempting to flee the scene, but he was quickly apprehended.
