Ryanair decide not to take the p*ss and confirm ‘pee for free’ policy on flights

Well, that’s a relief…

Well, that’s a relief…

It wouldn’t be stretching it to say that people like to give out to Ryanair from time to time, but let’s give them credit where it’s due after they announced this morning that they have no plans to charge for the use of the toilets on their flights.

The news follows on from threats from Ryanair in the past to charge for the use of toilets for extra revenue or to remove them from their aircraft completely in an effort to save costs but Ryanair customers will be glad to know that they don’t have to part with their hard-earned cash to go to the jacks or, alternatively if they don’t want spend money on a point of principle, hold it in until they land at their destination.

Normally, free use of the on-board toilet would be considered the minimum requirement of any respectable airline but Ryanair felt the need to announce it on their Twitter feed this morning, creating what will no doubt be a widely used ‘pee for free’ slogan in the process.

As with the first tweet from their account, it appears as if Ryanair are deliberately taking the p*ss out of themselves here and as disturbing an image as it creates in the circumstances, in this case we can’t help but ‘smell’ a cunning publicity stunt from a company who haven’t been afraid to adopt similar tactics in the past.

They’re number one alright.
