The tech giant is having to recall millions of 'exploding' washing machines over fresh safety fears.
The company's US Electronics division is recalling 2.8m of the top-loading washer devices after a string of reports of malfunctions - some resulting in injuries
Samsung say there have been 733 reports of their washing machines breaking, with nine people injured - including one users who reportedly suffered a broken jaw, according to The Telegraph.
The South Korean firm has already faced huge problems with their Galaxy Note 7 smartphone after multiple devices 'exploded'.
Nearly 2 million of the Note 7 had to be recalled, after it was revealed that the lithium ion battery was catching fire, and many airlines would not even let passengers fly with them.
But this could prove to be an even bigger headache for Samsung with almost 3m of their washing machines having to be sent back.
It is understood that the drums inside the washers are losing balance during the spin cycle, causing the top to separate from the washer.
“We’re talking about a very serious hazard of the top of these washing machines completely blowing off,'' Elliott Kaye, CPSC chairman, said in an interview on Good Morning America. ''It’s a lot of reports.
“This is the real world for me. I do the laundry in my family. I've got two young boys.
“This would scare the heck out of me, which is why we hope parents and others take advantage of this recall.”
Samsung issued a statement saying:
“Our priority is to reduce any safety risks in the home and to provide our customers with easy and simple choices in response to the recall.
"We are moving quickly and in partnership with the CPSC to ensure consumers know the options available to them and that any disruption in the home is minimised."
