Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Sandra Boyd

The man arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Sandra Boyd has been formally charged by Gardaí.

He is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Wednesday evening.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Dublin on Monday morning, 21 March.

The man, who is aged in his 20s, has been held in connection with the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Sandra Boyd.

Boyd was shot dead in Finglas on Saturday night (19 March).

The incident occurred at a domestic residence at Collins Place, in Finglas West, Dublin 11.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at approximately 8.40pm on Saturday.

Boyd, a mother of five children, was seriously injured during the incident.

She was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The man arrested on Monday is currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

Investigations are ongoing.
