London cabbies have decided they’re not in favour of Hailo’s plans to open up its service to private hire vehicles.

Hailo was once the sole domain of the London black cab service, but now the owners of Hailo are reaching out to private hire cars too.

The cabbies are seriously pissed off.

So much so that they attacked the Hailo app office in London. The word “Scabs” was scrawled on the wall of its London office and police were called after a fight broke out.

Steve McNamara, head of the London Taxi Drivers’ Association said that “feelings were running high” while adding, “things turned a little bit nasty, punches were thrown and the police were called.”

Apparently, some disgruntled drivers are queuing up to have the Hailo badge removed from their cabs and deleting the app.

For a lot of disgruntled London cab drivers, it’s a case of  ‘Say Hailo, wave goodbye’. We’re wondering if this is going to happen in Ireland next?
