A second off-duty Garda has died this weekend.

Following the tragic news that a member of An Garda Síochána in Mayo died of natural causes while cycling his bike, it was been confirmed that a second off-duty guard has passed away in Wexford.

The man, who was in his 40s, died during a diving incident off the Wexford coast. The man in his mid-40s was diving with a local sub aqua club off Hook Head. The man’s body has now been brought to the University Hospital Waterford. The name of the deceased has not been made public.

Lifeboats from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution were initially deployed in order to help with the situation, but they have since been stood down.
