The alarm was raised shortly after 16:30 and it’s now reopened.

Gardaí in Swords have reopened Main Street and the Malahide Road following an earlier security alert.

The alarm was raised shortly after 16:30 and a cursory search was carried out by Gardaí and business owners in the area as a precaution. Nothing was located by Gardaí and enquiries are ongoing.

The Pavilions Shopping Centre was also evacuated.

Councillor Ann Graves said via her official Facebook page that: “Bomb scare in Swords Garda Station – Main Street, Pavilions and surrounding area closed. I’ve spoken to Gardaí who are treating the matter seriously.”
