Gardaí in Cork are investigating following an incident that has left a man in critical condition.
The man, aged in his 40s, was seriously injured during an altercation that took place on Oliver Plunkett Street on Friday evening (10 September) some time between 6pm and 7.30pm.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Oliver Plunkett Street during that time period and who may have witnessed the assault to come forward.
An appeal has also been issued to road users who may have been present in the vicinity, particularly those with dash cam footage, to make contact.
