Police are dealing with an alleged ‘minor explosion’ which occurred at Southgate Tube station in north London after reports that a suspicious package had been found.
According to information from the British Transport Police and the Metropolitan Police Force, a small number of people have suffered injuries and are being treated on the scene.

First reports to police said a suspicious noise came from inside Southgate tube station.
Fortunately reports now indicate that there have been no serious or life-threatening injuries as the authorities continue to control the incident which occurred today at 7.03pm.
The station has now been closed as police, ambulance and fire services remain at the scene and parts of the Piccadilly line are now closed.
Some accounts indicate that there was a tipoff of a suspicious package which was being investigated by the police at the time of the explosion.

Police advised people to avoid the area around the station.
