A tremor in England was felt and heard across large swathes of the Model County last night.
Everything from Mount Leinster Rangers’ post-match commiserations to post-Bank Holiday bowel movements have been blamed but it seems it was a good old fashioned seismic event that caused the earth to move for some Wexford residents last night.
At 8.45pm a British Geological Survey seismogram sensor picked up a blip on their charts (above) and the tremor was felt in many parts of Wexford. Local radio station South East Radio asked its Twitter followers if they felt it and they were flooded with replies from around the county.
@Barros_Isabel @SouthEastRadio yes very loud rumbling and the house shook. I thought a large truck had crashed outside the house !!

In May last year another tremor in Wales was felt on much of the east coast of Ireland.
Thankfully, it appears that last night’s quake was so minor that no damage was done.
