At 8.45pm a British Geological Survey seismogram sensor picked up a blip on their charts (above) and the tremor was felt in many parts of Wexford. Local radio station South East Radio asked its Twitter followers if they felt it and they were flooded with replies from around the county.

@SouthEastRadio From living in Japan you get very used to the earthquake feeling... But that was a very unusual loud vibration for Wexford!!

In May last year another tremor in Wales was felt on much of the east coast of Ireland.
