A Siberian teenager recently sold her virginity via a Russian auction site describing her ‘condition’ as “new – not used”, and according to local police she didn’t break any laws.
The 18-year-old woman in question, named only as Shatuniha, posted to the Russian auction site 24au.ru saying: “I am in urgent need of money, so I am selling the most precious thing I possess. I am ready to meet up soon, even as soon as tomorrow, and I am ready to have my virginity verified.
“I can come to a hotel at Predmostnaya Square with a document confirming my virginity, and with a person who will take the cash and leave, so that I am not fooled.
“This person will take away the money, but I will stay… The money should be cash only.”
Shatuniha, whose pictures (above) appeared in the Siberian Times, set up the auction on October 30 under the title ‘Virginity’ and asked for 800,000 roubles. A deal was made a day later with a man using the name ‘Evgeniy Volnov’ for 900,000 roubles or €20,500.
When asked if the deal could be considered prostitution, police in Krasnoyarsk said, “This situation is neither an administrative nor a criminal violation. Nor does it fit into a description of the ‘Prostitution’ clause from the Code of the Administrative Violations”.
While the police say, “it does not fit into a description of the ‘Prostitution’ clause” the young woman did sell sex to a bloke for money, even if it was her first time, so the deal has a lot of people questioning the woman’s decision.
While it might have been Shatuniha’s first time, it’s certainly not the first time someone has sold their virginity for a few quid.
Last year a 21 year-old Brazilian student sold her virginity to a Japanese punter for more than €600,000 and said, “If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer”.
