Getting out for a run can be a great feeling but it’s even better when you’re raising much-needed funds to help homelessness.

The Simon Community are holding their 34th annual 5-mile run in the Phoenix Park in Dublin on 7 October. The Simon Home Run raises essential funds for the many individuals and families that find themselves without a home.

The Simon Community is urging people of all ages to come out on the day. It doesn’t matter whether you want to run, walk or just saunter your way through the five miles.

It’s all about being there and doing what you can, even if you run like this!

It’s not just about money, although the funds raised do make a huge difference to people’s lives. It’s also about showing solidarity in the face of a devastating homelessness crisis.

You can ask your friends to join you on the day, get your workmates on board or turn it into a family day out. Serious runners can use the Simon Home Run as a chance to test themselves against the best in the field or you can just use it as an excuse to stretch the legs in a wonderful setting.

The Simon Home Run kicks off at 10am on Saturday, 7 October, and you can register online ahead of the event. Entry is €20.

Dublin Simon Community are asking people to hit the pavement and come together, not just for fun but for homes!
