He has said such posters only make him “more determined to work”.

Simon Harris has hit out at posters put up in his constituency which depict him and what appear to be an aborted foetus.

Harris criticised the posters via his social media platforms and warned that the posters spotted in his Wicklow constituency will not affect him, or deter him from his work.

The graphic photo is a mocked up election photo, with the Fine Gael name and logo also included.

On his social media, Harris wrote:

“Thanks to those who contacted me about disgusting posters which have been put up across my constituency today. I saw them on way to work. Have too much important work to do to give this time but want you to know it only makes me all the more determined to work

The posters have since been removed by Wicklow County Council.

Minster for Justice Charlie Flanagan also criticised the “obscene” photos.

We live in a democracy where freedoms of speech & expresssion are cherished,” Flanagan said on Twitter. “These posters are loathing & [sic] obscene. They’re also illegal.”
