Imagine being sat next to a baby for this one…

Singapore Airlines have announced that they are launching the world’s longest ever commercial flight. It will depart from Singapore and will land a total of 18 hours and 25 minutes later at Newark airport in New Jersey.

That’s roughly 15610.64 kilometers. They’ll need some amount of petrol.

Singapore Airlines announced the news on Twitter, accompanied by the news that tickets for the iconic journey will go on sale tomorrow.

They also confirmed that the flight will have premium, economy and business class cabins on board.

It’s not the first time that Singapore have flown this route, but they had to stop doing so in 2013, as it became uneconomical.

And in case you’re concerned that hunger might be an issue, the airline have confirmed that there will be a number of in-flight meals to satisfy the customers throughout the near 19 hour period.

Speaking to USA today, CEO of Singapore Airlines Goh Choon Phong said: “The flights will offer our customers the fastest way to travel between the two cities – in great comfort, together with Singapore Airlines’ legendary service – and will help boost connectivity to and through the Singapore hub.”

Currently, the longest flight in the world is from Doha to Auckland on Qatar Airways, which clocks in at around 17 hours and 40 minutes. So imagine that, and add an another hour, give or take, and you’ve got the flight from Singapore to Newark. You’d want to have a comfy seat…
