A new snow-ice has been issued warning for Ireland.

Met Éireann has confirmed that a Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning will be in place for the entire country from midday today (Monday, January 6) until midday tomorrow, (Tuesday, January 7).

The update warned of hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility, and travel disruption throughout Ireland.

A separate Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning is also in place until midnight on Friday, January 10.

On Monday morning, over 41,000 customers were without electricity and 40,000 were without water due to the Arctic weather conditions that affected the country over the weekend.

Most of the country was under a Status Orange weather warning for snow, ice, and rain. Some of the most affected countries also saw school closures on Monday.

The counties worst hit by the adverse weather conditions are Carlow, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary, and Wicklow.
