There could be ‘flooding’ and ‘difficult travelling conditions’.
Five counties have been newly issued Status Orange rain warnings by Met Éireann.
One of the warnings applies to Cork and Waterford and will be valid from 8am to 6pm on Sunday (29 September).
The other is for Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford and is set to take effect from 1pm the same day until midnight.
“Heavy rain with some intense and thundery downpours,” they both read.
“Possible Impacts: Flooding, dangerous driving conditions and travel disruption.”

As well as this, two Status Yellow rain and wind warnings have been issued.
One is for the entire province of Munster and will be valid from 5am to 8pm on Sunday.
The other is for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford and Wicklow and is set to take effect from midday on Sunday until 2am on Monday.
“Heavy rain accompanied by strong and gusty winds,” both read.
“Possible Impacts: Localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions [and] travel delays, some fallen branches [and] trees.”
