A Status Yellow fog warning has been issued for 13 counties across Ireland.

Met Éireann issued the warning on Monday afternoon, which will be in place from just after midnight on Tuesday morning until 10pm on Tuesday night.

The counties affected are Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.

Met Éireann warned that during the affected time period, there will be “dense fog in places,” leading to hazardous driving conditions.

Overall, Tuesday will be a dry and bright day with good spells of sunshine, becoming cloudier by evening.

As the day goes on, it will be generally dry under broken cloud with just a slight risk of some light showers in the southeast by morning.

There is also the potential for localised frost where skies stay clear, along with some mist and fog patches. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees are to be expected.
