It’s going to be a wet one out there.

A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for eight counties across Ireland.

The warning has been issued for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.

The warning, which was issued on Sunday morning, will be in place from 8pm on Sunday until 10am the following day.

Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain on Sunday night will lead to accumulations of 20 of 30mm in places, with a risk of spot flooding.

We are also told to expect a wet start to the week on Monday morning with “outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent in the east and southeast with a risk of spot flooding.”

A rain warning issued to lead us into a new week. Super.

However, it does look set to be mostly dry on Tuesday with sunny spells and just a few passing showers, these mainly affecting the northwest of the country.

Lovely.
