Met Éireann issues status yellow weather warning for 14 counties

Thought the bad weather was over after Ophelia? Think again.
The entire province of Munster and eight counties in Leinster have been issued with a status yellow weather warning ahead of expected spells of heavy rain on Thursday. Met Éireann issued the weather warning at 10am on Wednesday, with accumulations of between 30mm and 50mm of rain forecast while the warning is in effect for 24 hours from midnight tonight. The counties of Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath, as well as the entire province of Munster, will be affected as Ireland braces itself for another miserable spell of weather after ex-Hurricane Ophelia wreaked havoc in parts of the country earlier this week. https://twitter.com/ESBNetworks/status/920597230666600448 Thousands of homes in Ireland, particularly in the south and south-west, remain without power, while there’s a possibility that another storm is set to hit the country over the weekend, with the worst conditions – gale force winds and thundery showery rain – forecast for Saturday.
