People of Ireland – be careful out there.

A Status Yellow weather warning has been issued the whole country.

The warning, which is valid for all of Ireland, will come into place at 6pm on Saturday evening until 10pm on Sunday.

Met Éireann warned that temperatures will fall below minus three or four degrees tonight, colder locally away from coasts.

This will lead to a widespread hard ground frost and icy surfaces, with potentially dangerous conditions.

Frost and ice on untreated surfaces will be slow to clear on Sunday.

Throughout Sunday, it will be dry in many areas with good sunshine and scattered showers near coasts, while some showers will drift further inland in Leinster during the evening, and may turn wintry.

Sound the snow claxon, it’s very much on the cards.

Met Éireann also said that it will be “bitterly cold” throughout the day with highest temperatures of just one to four degrees generally.

Yep, we’re starting off 2021 the right way. Freezing cold.
