Batten down the hatches, it’s going to be windy.
Weather warnings from Met Éireann have become almost customary on a daily basis in recent weeks and the first one of this week arrived at 11am on Monday morning.
Met Éireann have issued a status yellow weather warning for the entire country ahead of what is likely to be a fairly wild night on Tuesday night.
Yellow status wind warning for Ireland

The warning doesn’t come into effect until 8pm on Tuesday and is predicting gusts of up to 110 km/h in places, with mean winds speeds of 55-65 km/h.
The warning will remain in effect until 6am on Wednesday morning, but that will hardly mean an end to the bad conditions, with hail and thunder forecast for Wednesday and Thursday in what appears to be a miserable week all round.
May as well just write off January at this stage and hope for better weather from February onwards.
