That dodgy weather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon…

A Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for three counties ahead of this weekend.

Met Éireann issued the wind warning for Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford, which will come into place from 12 noon on Saturday until 5pm on the same day.

Southerly winds are expected to reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h in affected counties, with gusts of up to 100 km/h on Saturday afternoon.

This warning comes on top of a Status Yellow wind warning, which is active until 4pm on Friday for Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford.

Separately, a Status Yellow rainfall warning is also in place until 4pm on Friday for Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Met Éireann said heavy rain in these counties may cause some river flooding and localised surface flooding. Rainfall totals will be between 30mm and 40mm, but this may be even higher in mountainous regions.

So if you are in or near any of the affected counties, then it might be wise to just stay indoors this weekend.
