For anyone that's out and about, Dublin Fire Brigade are asking people to plan ahead if they're doing any Christmas shopping, drive safely with regards to the conditions, and leave space for cyclists in strong winds.
As for Saturday morning, it's expected to be wet with rain becoming widespread throughout the country with some heavy, possibly thundery showers in parts of the south and west especially. There's also the chance of some local spot flooding.
Disruptive and damaging gusts will develop for a few hours later this afternoon in parts of Munster and Connacht too.
These gusty winds will move into the more northern and eastern counties as the day develops. However, the rain and winds should ease off tonight with conditions turning cold overnight.
