Parts of Ireland could experience blizzard conditions and significant falls of snow.
Met Éireann has issued a weather advisory for all of Ireland regarding the upcoming Storm Eunice, stating it has the potential to be a “multi-hazard and disruptive event”.
The advisory was issued on Tuesday afternoon (15 February) and remains valid until 3pm on Friday.
“Through Thursday night and Friday, Storm Eunice will track eastwards over Ireland,” it reads.
“It has the potential to be a multi-hazard and disruptive event with damaging winds, heavy rain and snow possible.
“Current indications are that the strongest winds are most likely to affect southern counties and the most significant falls of snow are most likely over central and northern parts of the country with local blizzard conditions possible for a time and disruption to travel.”
Met Éireann has noted that new warnings will be issued on Wednesday morning and updated on Thursday morning regarding Storm Eunice.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind warning for the entire country has already been issued for Wednesday over another storm – Storm Dudley.
Valid from 12pm on Wednesday until the same time on Thursday, the warning indicates that westerly winds associated with Storm Dudley will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with damaging gusts of 80 to 110km/h.
Met Éireann also warned that the winds will be stronger on exposed coasts and on high ground.
“A combination of high tide and strong winds will lead to flooding on exposed coasts,” said the national forecaster.
