Residents were contacted by email and told that no questions would be asked if the item was returned.

An appeal has been made on behalf of Gort na Coiribe student accommodation in Galway to return a prosthetic arm that was allegedly stolen from a property on Wednesday night.

Residents were contacted by email and asked to hand the prosthetic arm into security or to contact the office at the student accommodation if they had any information as to its whereabouts after it disappeared from a property at Gort na Coiribe, which is located on the Headford Road and houses students studying at NUIG.

In an email, which was forwarded to JOE by a resident who wishes to remain anonymous, residents were told that no questions would be asked upon the return of the prosthetic arm, which they believe may have been stolen in a “drunken prank”.

A spokesperson for Gort na Coiribe told JOE that they have yet to receive any information regarding the prosthetic arm and that Gardaí are currently involved in the investigation.

Details on how to contact Gort na Coiribe can be found on their website.
